Job Purpose:
As an Associate Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with the basic maintenance and repair of Multi-Function Printers (MFP). This entry-level position is ideal for individuals beginning their career in the technical service field. You will gain hands-on experience while working under the supervision of more experienced technicians and the Service Manager.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in performing basic maintenance and cleaning of MFP devices to ensure they operate efficiently.
- Support senior technicians in diagnosing and repairing MFP devices, learning through hands-on experience.
- Help with the installation of MFP devices, including basic setup and ensuring the devices are functioning correctly.
- Learn to perform simple troubleshooting tasks, such as clearing paper jams and replacing toner cartridges, under the guidance of senior technicians.
- Provide basic on-site support to customers, focusing on routine tasks and escalating more complex issues to senior technicians.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, including parts used and tasks completed, under supervision.
- Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, and local regulations.
- Stay informed about the basics of MFP models and standard repair procedures.
- Assist in managing inventory by reporting used parts and supplies to the Service Manager.
Training and Development:
- Participate in company-provided training programs to build foundational technical skills and understanding of MFP devices.
- Shadow senior technicians to learn best practices in MFP maintenance, repair, and customer service.
Administrative Duties:
- Assist in maintaining documentation for service calls, including logging basic information such as work orders.
- Help manage time effectively to complete assigned tasks within the designated time frame.
- Provide assistance with basic tasks related to territory maintenance and alignment as directed.
Necessary Qualifications:
- High School education or equivalent.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation unless a company vehicle is provided.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Basic familiarity with office equipment or technology is a plus but not required.
- General knowledge of Microsoft Suite is beneficial but not mandatory.
Working Conditions:
- Environment: Field-based with frequent travel to customer sites.
- Exposures: Moderate noise, occasional exposure to hazardous materials.
- Travel: Frequent local travel with occasional out-of-town assignments.
- Physical Conditions: Standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, lifting, and carrying equipment.
