BASIC FUNCTION
Primary Responsibility: The Sales Support Specialist is responsible for developing names of possible prospects for follow-up by outside sales reps. Represents the company with customers by taking/soliciting orders for accessories, supplies, equipment or handling customer questions or complaints over the phone.
WORK PERFORMED
Develops a list of prospects from resource material or company records.
Calls or receives calls from customers to order supplies, accessories, equipment. Explains advantages of various services or products offered. Tries to upgrade purchases.
Quotes prices, delivery dates and payment terms and tries to persuade customer/prospect to buy, using knowledge of company products and services.
Enters into computer names, address, purchases and comments of customers/prospect solicited.
Completes order form, including delivery date and credit information. Confirms with credit department acceptability of the order.
Procures quoted items from respective vendor.
At the end of shift, prepares summary report of activity as required by company telemarketing operations manual and emails report to corporate telemarketing operations.
May be required to contact customers on delayed shipments, shortage of materials, etc. and explain circumstances. May cross-reference prospect lists with actual customer lists to avoid duplication of calling.
Perform other duties as required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years inside sales, telemarketing experience or procurement experience.
