Senior Accountant

BASIC FUNCTION

Primary Responsibility: Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting Controller and CFO with the financial affairs of the organization and in preparing financial analysis of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules for guidance of management.

WORK PERFORMED

  • Assist in month-end closing and financial reporting process, including account analysis and reconciliation, working with the accounting software, reviewing account activity, posting journal entries, generating Excel schedules, and related activities.
  • Assist in producing accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Responsible for managing operational and financial data and ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Working with financial team on annual audit and tax preparation. Preparing GL account reconciliations. Assisting the audit team with various requests related to balance sheet and P&L, confirmation letters, etc.
  • Assist in various projects as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Two to four years of experience in public/private accounting preferred.
  • Experience working as a member and leader of a team.

Experience in the following areas:

  • SAP and E-Automate software experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Additional skills required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work in areas which require attention to detail in a varied environment.
  • General office environment.
